MAYDAY was founded with a simple belief: recruitment should feel human. When we opened our doors, we didn’t want to be the biggest agency, but we did want to be the one people remembered for how we made them feel. For showing up. For caring. For doing the right thing, even when it took more time or effort.
What started as three founders around a kitchen table has grown into a national team of specialists across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane all united by one mindset: put people first; the impact is felt far beyond the placement.
The Technology Gap We Couldn’t Ignore.
As technology hiring accelerated across Australia, MAYDAY saw a growing gap in the market: businesses needed a recruitment partner who genuinely understood the pace of change across tech, digital and transformation — not just someone matching keywords to CVs.
That gap became MAYDAY Technology.
Launched in 2025, MAYDAY Technology was built to bring deeper market expertise, stronger partnerships and a more specialist approach to technology recruitment across Australia.
Today, MAYDAY Technology partners with organisations across Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Australia-wide, delivering specialist recruitment solutions across software engineering, cloud & infrastructure, cybersecurity, data & AI, project services, digital, product and executive technology leadership.

2016 – MAYDAY Begins
July 4, MAYDAY Recruitment launched into the Sydney market.
2018 – Welcome MAYDAY Blue
Launched MAYDAY Blue (now MAYDAY Technical).
2018 – Employee Programs
Introduced key programs including our Buddy Program to support onboarding and MAYDAY Awards to recognise excellence.
2018 – Service Additions
From temp to perm – the first permanent division was established.

2020 – Expansion

Expansion with team Melbourne.

Launched MAYDAY Healthcare.
